LWD honors its staff as “Development Hero” at retirement ceremony

Kampong Chhnang (January 31, 2013) – LWD’s Management today honored their retired staff as a “Development Hero” of LWD at a Retirement Ceremony held at LWD Area Program Office in Sameakki Meanchey district of Kampong Chhnang province.

Mr. Lor Bunnath made his decision to take an early retirement in order to reunite with his family in Australia after working for LWF/LWD for almost 21 years since 1992.

LWD Executive Director Dr. Sam Inn said that Bunnath was one of LWD outstanding staffs who always accepted challenges. “I found him as a good leader of LWD,” Dr. Inn said, adding that he left us with good models of leadership, management and substantial achievements.

Dr. Inn highly appreciated his works with LWF/LWD and presented him with a plaque of honor. “I’d like to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for your dedicated service to empower the vulnerable people in rural Cambodia,” he said.

Bunnath, who holds key positions at LWF/LWD such as Community Development Officer, Assistant Project Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Project Manager, and up to Area Program Manager, deeply thanked LWF/LWD for giving him an opportunity to serve the rural Cambodians for years.

He said all the achievements could not made if no supports from LWD team, donors, partners and local authorities at all levels.

H.E Un Sam Ol, Deputy Governor for Kampong Chhnang, highly appreciated the joint achievements made by LWF/LWD and all concerned stakeholders, and committed to further strengthening good cooperation with LWD to speed up the development work in the areas.
