Sihanoukville (27 Sept 2012) – Staff members of Life With Dignity (LWD) from across the six program areas in Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat and Battambang provinces and the headquarters in Phnom Penh met together at the Annual Staff Consultative Workshop on 26-27 September in Sihanoukville to reflect their achievements of the year.
In his opening remarks, LWD Executive Director Dr. Sam Inn expressed his sincerest thanks to all LWD staff members who were dedicated and committed to helping the poor people in rural Cambodia.
He highlighted some key achievements which LWD had made in the second year after it was localized from Lutheran World Federation Cambodia in 2011. He said that the image, reputation and achievements of LWD were recognized by the Royal Government of Cambodia at all levels, its local and international partner NGOs, and donors. Additionally, LWD became a member of ACT Alliance and was certified by NGO Governance and Professional Practice.
“These successes resulted from all of our efforts. However, we should not be over proud of them,” he said.He advised that staff continue the culture of discussion, consultation, learning and sharing for improving the program quality.
Some key topics discussed during the workshop included (i) partnership with the government; (ii) plan for establishing LWD Social Development and Management Center; (iii) financial issue; and (iv) findings of Learning Organization, Reflection and Dialogue.
Speaking on behalf of the Chairperson of LWD Board of Directors at the closing session, Mr. Ung Sirn Lee, Treasurer for the Board, highly appreciated great efforts and achievements made by the staff over the year.
He advised staff to think positively and encouraged them to continue to share their experience and knowledge among the team. He also asked all staff to keep maintaining the good reputation and achievements of LWD forever.
