Vientiane, Lao PDR (Nov 01, 2017)— AZEECON executives and management, and related agency representatives from Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS), Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and LWF met to review its accomplishments over the year and plan for the next year at the 21st annual summit, held on Oct 31-Nov 3 in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The meeting, organized by LWF Laos, also provided an opportunity for participants to share good practice their organizations have made in addressing climate change issue, responding to disaster risk reduction and planning for disaster preparedness.
According to the training report 2017, around 90 participants from the AZEECON member organizations attended 6 AZEECON events in 2017. They included: (1) Exchange Visit on Disability Mainstreaming for South Asia; (2) 6th Customised Training on Climate Change; (3) Conflict Sensitivity and Do-No-Harm in Emergency Response; (4) EETV (Human Rights Advocacy), Non-confrontational, Evidence-Based, Solution-Focused Policy Dialogue to advance Human Rights; (5) Core Humanitarian Standard; and (6) Training of Trainer on Gender Inclusive Right Based Development.
