Donors are committed to support LWD’s 3-year project plan

Donor representatives from Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS), Church of Sweden (CoS), Dan Church Aid/Christian Aid (DCA/CA), Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst (EED), and Finn Church Aid (FCA) were committed at a round table meeting on 23-24 November in Prusat province to continue its support for the implementation of LWD’s new Project Plan 2012-2014.

On the first day of the meeting, all the representatives including the LWF’s paid a visit to two of 41 villages supported by LWD in Pursat’s Phnom Kravanh district. The purpose was to learn about the impacts of LWD-supported projects and challenges the local community faced. The Team met with the Village Development Committees, Village Bank Committees, Village Leaders, Livestock Agents, Youth Groups, Women Groups, primary students, partner households, Farmer Field School groups, and district councilors.

In the feedback session, the delegates highly appreciated the achievements made by the community under LWD’s support. But focus on building latrines for disable people, more encouragement to Youth Groups, promotion of secondary enrollment through the establishment of dormitory, and increasing participation of men in gender trainings were suggested.

Dr. Sam Inn, LWD Executive Director, expressed his sincere thanks to all traditional donors for their continued support for the empowerment of the poor in rural Cambodia.

The budget planned for the implementation of the 3-year project is amounted to more than US$14 million, according the presentation by LWD Finance and Admin Manager.
